The event, presented by the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association, featured a candlelight walk, horse and carriage rides, open fires, an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt and treats and activities inside many businesses. Some downtown businesses are continuing the late-night shopping  farther into December and will stay open until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 and Friday, Dec. 19.
