The second annual Downtown Maple Ridge Zombie Walk takes place Friday, Oct. 24.
The walk starts at Valley Fair Mall, 4 p.m.
The Zombie Walk helps collect donations for the Friends in Need Food Bank – and last year participants, dressed as zombies, filled the downtown streets.
From the mall this year, participants will be led on a leisurely tour of the downtown.
“Last year we were amazed that everyone stayed in character for the entire walk,” said organizer Taryn Stephenson. “It was quite a spectacle.”

• 2:30 p.m. – Emerald Pig theatre society will begin painting faces, Friends In Need will start collecting food;
