Abbotsford Chamber continues to recognize the city’s best

The 18th annual Business Excellence Awards is still seeking nominations. The deadline is Sept. 21.

Rick Rake, Chair of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards wants to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to help identify the best businesses in the city.  The Sept. 21 deadline date for nominations for this year’s Abbotsford Business Excellence Awards is fast approaching.

“This is one of the most crucial and exciting parts of the process”, said Rake. “This is where you and I get to say thanks and give a pat on the back when a business, individual or organization has really gone out of their way to demonstrate something special.”

The Abbotsford Business Excellence Awards is now in its 18th year and grows in popularity with each event.  All nominees are interviewed by a panel of three judges in each category who then make the decision.  All nominees are recognized and profiled at the awards event.

“It might be a new business that has delighted you with their innovation and spirit or an established business which just keeps getting better. There may be a specific individual who has gone the extra mile just for you and impressed you with their skill, knowledge, or customer service.  This is your way to acknowledge that superior service in a very meaningful and gratifying manner,” said Rake.

Last year’s event saw more than 100 nominees in the 11 different award categories and was a record-breaking sell-out. This year’s event will be held again at Tradex on Wednesday, Nov. 20 and will feature the return of one of the event’s most popular entertainers – Drum Cafe.

Rake said he’s pleased to have Drum Cafe back this year.

“This rhythmic experience engages the entire audience in a journey of personal discovery and participation, culminating in a communal celebration of music and festivity.” It will be a fitting way to help celebrate the success of all our nominees that evening.  The important part is to act now and get your nominations in before the Sept. 21 deadline.”
