Another sign of movie industry growth in Okanagan

A leading provider of talent for movie and film productions is launching a new office in Kelowna.

Boss Management Inc. says the move is being strategically to meet the anticipated expanding needs of the Okanagan’s film industry growth now and in the future.

That growth is reflected currently by the current studio space in the Lower Mainland booked to space capacity, necessitating productions to find film space or locations elsewhere, with the Okanagan considered a prime area to attract that business.

The new office will allow Boss to work with the local talent directly and prepare them for what’s expected. The company also has plans to open two locations on Vancouver Island in the immediate future.

“The opening of Boss’s Kelowna office is an important step representing quality performers. Working closely with talent is an important part, being confident in the quality of performer you’re representing to production,” said Sonya Siltani, chief executive officer of Boss Management Inc.

“The new office will be the first of many important changes for the company in 2016. The Netflix effect is happening and we must be able to respond and meet the demand.

Boss Management Inc. currently serves all extras, principal and commercial casting, with more than 40 productions slated to shoot in Vancouver  this season as its roster of 600 movie extras, 100 actors and 200 commercial talent are getting ready for a busy year.
