A world-renowned international education program will be offered at Aspengrove School in Lantzville starting next fall.

The private school recently learned that it has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the IB diploma program for senior students.

The school is already offering the IB primary years and middle years programs for students from age three to Grade 10 and with the addition of the diploma program, Aspengrove becomes the ninth school in the country to offer the full continuum of IB programs.

Zinda FitzGerald, head of school, said in a press release that right from the start, the vision was to make Aspengrove an IB school and the authorization process for the diploma program has required much determination, financial support and a dedicated staff.

She said teachers devoted many extra hours to attend training, prepare course outlines and collaborate on paperwork for submission.
