When Welcome Wagon dropped by Sandcastle Lanes in South Surrey last week, it wasn’t to greet some new arrivals.
Sandcastle Lanes owner Jennifer Lowe and fitness-centre manger Natalie Dunnill were presented with a plaque in recognition of their long-time business sponsorship with Welcome Wagon and for being champions of recreation and fitness in the Semiahmoo Peninsula.
Sandcastle Lanes, at 1938 152 St., has been a community sponsor with Welcome Wagon Canada for more than 10 years.
A Welcome Wagon news release about the Aug. 13 plaque presentation said the agency is “proud to have represented this local business for over a decade and look forward to continuing to share all the best of the community of Semiahmoo Peninsula with new comers all year long.”
Welcome Wagon provides a personal greeting to newcomers to the area provided in their new home by local representatives JoAnn Smith, Gloria Boucher and Pat Petrala.
The team introduces families to community, recreational opportunities, local businesses and services.
