The first direct flight from Vancouver to Revelstoke touched down on the runway at the Revelstoke Airport on Thursday.

The 15 passenger flight was sold out and arrived on-time in a Beechcraft 1900 series airplane. A small but excited crowed gathered on the tarmac to welcome the passengers and commemorate the event with a champagne toast.

The flight service, operated by Revelstoke Air, will run Thursdays and Sundays until March 19. Prices for a one-way ticket will range from $249 to $299 including taxes, fees, 50 pounds of luggage, and ground transport to and from your hotel.

“I’m really excited about the scheduled flights now serving Revelstoke,” said Peter Nielsen, Vice President of Operations at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. “The flights arrive in Revelstoke on Thursday afternoons and depart the Revelstoke Airport at 2 p.m. on Sundays, which means people will be able to ski Friday, Saturday, and almost a full day on Sunday before heading home.”

Flights leave from Vancouver’s South Terminal and land at the Revelstoke Airport, located just one kilometre from the Resort.
