Paul Anacleto is the new store manager at Save On Foods. He comes to Port Alberni from Victoria with his wife Christine and two daughters.
Paul has worked at three other Save On stores and this is his first time as store manager.
Christine, a counselor, is working at ACAWS.
Paul and his staff got into the Christmas spirit with a ladies’ night Dec. 2 at Save On Foods with vendors, charity raffles, samples and Save On More points incentives for shoppers.

Pacific West Home Solutions is a new locally-owned company looking to fill the gap left by Sears and provide a one stop shop for everything home improvement. Manager Cory Beecroft says the store, located in the old Sears and next to United Floors, will carry appliances, window coverings, beds, outdoor furniture, flooring and more but they will also provide renovation services and expertise at a competitive price.
The store will add three more staff to the three already working at United Floors.

Boston Pizza is showing their community spirit with two events planned for 2017. First up in April, Boston Pizza is organizing two nights of concerts to raise funds for the ADSS Athletics program, specifically for a new bus for team travel. The concerts April 7 and 8 will feature ABBA Tribute Band Abradcadabra on the Friday night and The Heroes of Rock on Saturday night, both at the ADSS theatre. The second event hosted by Boston Pizza is a spaghetti dinner at the train station the night before the Tri-Conic Challenge Canada Day Long Weekend. Participants registered in the events can carb up for free, others are welcome to purchase tickets. 250-723-2622
