Business Excellence Awards nominations underway

Cast your votes now for outstanding service, products

Is there a local business where you love to shop or get some service?

The South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) invites and encourages everyone to place a vote now for the 21st Annual Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year.

Executive director Shelly Morton says it is important for as many people as possible to participate in order to recognize those truly exceptional businesses in the community.

Business Excellence Awards voting and nominations are open to the general public and to any and all businesses or organizations in the South Cariboo until Feb. 28.

The 2014 award categories are Family-Friendly Business, Greatest Improvement in 2014, Rising Star, Tourism/Recreation, Best Marketing and Promotion, Community Inclusion, Best Home-Based Business, Best New Business, Non-Profit Organization, Community-Based Business, Resource-Based Excellence, Customer Service and People’s Choice.

Nominations forms are available on page B8 of this newspaper, and at the SCCC office.

(Any business that has won in the last three years is not ineligible to win in the same category, but may be nominated for any other category.)

The final voting for the top 4 nominees in each category will happen at the Business Excellence Awards Dinner on April 11.

It is also time to nominate folks who went “above and beyond” volunteering for the community in 2014 for Citizen of the Year – deadline is Feb. 28.

Pick up a nomination form at the SCCC or 100 Mile House Free Press offices.

Once completed, drop all award nomination forms off at #2-385 Birch Ave., e-mail to manager@southcariboochamber.org, fax to 250-395-8974 or mail to SCCC-Business Awards, Box 2312, 100 Mile House, B.C., V0K 2E0.
