Elite Nutrition has been an integral part of Golden’s business community for more than 20 years, and the Pecoras have a deep-rooted history in the community, starting as far back as the 1920s.
Mike Pecora originally opened the health food business in combination with a fitness centre in 1992, under the name Golden Health Food and Jump and Pump Fitness Centre, but changed the business model and name to focus on health supplements after moving locations to where Elite Nutrition is now.
Linda Pecora came into the business around 15 years ago, and since then they have built a life together in the business and the community.
Together, they have two children, 10-year-old Sierra and seven-year-old Vincent. Sierra enjoys helping out in the store and has high aspirations to own it herself one day.
Mike says she can have it all, when she’s a bit older. For now, Sierra helps with pricing and organizing the shelves when she’s in the store.
“Sierra really likes being in here,” Mike said.
Elite Nutrition is more than just a vitamin and supplement store. Nicole Dober has offered massage in one of the back rooms for around six years, and the location has become a hub for a variety of other businesses the Pecoras run.
Mike also owns Elite Sound and Light, Linda runs her own Young Living business, and she offers pre employment health screening.
“Linda is taking over more and more,” Mike said, adding that he is slowly working his way out of the business because he has become busy with his DJ business and working for the Golden Fire Department.
Elite Nutrition offers a wide selection of vitamins and supplements, natural health and beauty care products, essential oils, protein supplements, health related teas, detox kits, soaps, good health advice, and so much more.
