With spring just around the corner and people eager to get their bikes and running shoes out, Central City Brewers and Distillers (CCBD) is launching a new beer that is perfect for the active West Coast lifestyle. CCBD unveiled their newest beer at a tasting event last week: the Red Racer India Session Ale, a crisp, hoppy craft ale full on flavour but light on alcohol, at only four per cent.
Brewed at its new 68,000-sq.-ft. state-of-the-art brewery on Bridgeview Drive in Surrey, the new Red Racer India Session Ale is a light, crisp and fruity ale with a good bitterness and malt balance, coupled with refreshing hop aromatics. The use of mosaic hops gives this full-flavoured craft beer exotic tropical fruit notes with hints of passion fruit. The ale is best enjoyed when paired with lighter foods like pizza or seafood.
“The ISA is an emerging beer style here in the Pacific Northwest and one we’ve been eager to brew since we moved into our new state-of-the-art facility,” says Gary Lohin, brewmaster at CCBD. “What differentiates our ISA is its lighter alcohol volume at four per cent, which is matched with exotic fruit notes and good hop bitterness. This results in a lighter beer many can enjoy while hitting the slopes or mountain biking. This beer is made for West Coast lifestyles, joining our product family as the little brother of our flagship IPA.”
