Sooke Harbour Chamber of Commerce news

The beginning of a New Year, the enthusiasm of a new start, the ideas of new players; these things fill our hearts and minds with vigour and optimism. It was with this optimism that the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce entered 2011.

The Sooke Chamber has 12 intelligent, highly motivated individuals committed to making Sooke a better place to live, work, play, or visit. These people are your friends, neighbours and acquaintances of you or someone you know. Yeah, Sooke only has two degrees of separation. These people are just like everyone else in Sooke, they love their home. What makes them a little different is their commitment to improving upon this little corner of paradise. Please make sure to thank them. A phone call, a handshake or your patronage —  those would all work and it will let them know you appreciate the extra effort they put out for everyone in Sooke. If you haven’t already seen the announcements you can find them all at www.sookeregionchamber.com under the heading “Directors.”

The investment in chamber membership, for most members, is more than returned through taking advantage of the benefits offered.

Whether it be Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance, gasoline discounts, or discounted rates on credit/debit transactions with TD or Versapay, the benefits are easy to obtain, easy to use and they all help your company’s bottom line. On our web site under “Benefits,” you can find detailed information on all of these programs.

This year your chamber is offering yet another great reason to belong. We are producing a Member Directory. A spiral-bound glossy paper book listing each Chamber member. Each listing will include;

Company Name

Address & phone number

Email address/website address

All paid up members are entitled to a free listing and each has the opportunity to purchase an additional business card size ad for just $50. The directory is intended to be an annual publication and will be free to all members and used as information pieces to companies and individuals who are considering Sooke as their new home. It is felt this added awareness of what is available here in Sooke will help our “Shop Local” initiatives.

We have six new Chamber members as of this year. They are:
