The Chamber is working on more than a dozen diverse events for this year and there are opportunities to be involved as a business.

The Chamber board has assisted many organizations and businesses who have concerns in the community and need help sometimes in the form of letters of support.  These concerns can be an advocacy issue that the board will take on.  From this simple step, the issues end up on the floor of the BC Chamber AGM in the form of a resolution.  Thanks to the board members who are up for the challenge and want what is best for our community and area.  Mark Doratti, chair of our policy committee is asking you for your help in advocacy and action.  Get involved and work with our chamber and help businesses in our community.

Williams Lake Chamber Chatter with Denise Myr, Licensed Insurance Broker for Johnston Meier Insurance Agencies Group:

“I have been working in the service industry for 30-plus years in our wonderful community. I have done quite a few things such as bussing tables to owning my own business. I am currently working at Johnston Meier Insurance, which has its challenges in the ever changing world of insurance.

“I started Jan. 2015 and continue to learn new things each and every day. We sell a variety of insurance such as ICBC, travel, private insurance, home, mobile home, and commercial insurance. Bruce Johnston and Tom Meier started their company back in 1973 and now have 450 employees and 43 locations across B.C.

“The Williams Lake office has been serving our community for 20 years. Lisa Wessels is our branch manager and she comes with more than 20 years of experience. We pride ourselves in customer service and making sure that our client’s needs are met. I enjoy my new career and all the challenges it has to offer.

“Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for providing eventful luncheons, as I attend some of these luncheons and learn a lot about our community and surrounding areas. The information provided is always interesting and very formative.”
