Chamber Luncheon presentation: Mining 4 Everyone – Celebrating BC mining week
Tuesday, May 6 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Coast Capri Hotel – 1171 Harvey Avenue
Did you know that mining is one of B.C.’s largest and oldest industries?
Also, the mining industry is the largest customer for Canada’s transportation sector.
The Kelowna Chamber of Commerce is celebrating BC Mining Week with a business luncheon featuring keynote speaker Karina Briño, president and CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia.
Ms. Briño will speak to what a strong and responsible mining industry means to the province, as well as the people of Kelowna.
From Tumbler Ridge to downtown Vancouver, to the Okanagan and beyond, British Columbians across the province benefit from mining operations through increased employment opportunities and increased revenue for governments—which helps fund crucial services such as education and health care.
From investments in social programs and infrastructure to the role of mining in today’s technology-driven economy, mining contributes to the lives of all British Columbians every day.
Who should attend?
Engineers, accounting and legal firms, consultants, HR professionals, food service, air transport, health and safety, post secondary institutions, investment firms and anyone in the trucking industry.
Admission Price: $40 for members, $55 for future members
Ticket sales close at 4 pm on Thursday, May 1.
