It’s not every day that your credit card purchase is paid for you. But that’s what happened to Campbell River resident Wayne Gareau.
In May, Gareau (pictured above) entered to win his purchase from Mad Man McKay, a home electronics retailer. Gareau made his winning purchase from Mad Man McKay’s Campbell River location, as part of CitiFinancial Retail Services’ ‘Spring in Your Step Win Your Purchase’ contest where participants entered to win the value of their purchase from partner retailers to a maximum of $5,000. Gareau’s name was randomly drawn from 44,518 entrants from across Canada. He won a motorcycle stereo, priced at $1,357.47. Gareau received his cheque last Thursday morning.
