Abbotsford’s first craft brewery, Surlie Brewing Company, is calling on the city to alter its bylaw prohibiting alcohol sales on industrial land, to bring it in line with the provincial liquor laws.
A letter from owner Tim Brown to the mayor’s office asked the city to allow the sale of beer at the brewery site on Townline Road, as well as the ability to hold tasting events.
Staff said they will soon bring a report to council recommending minor changes to the zoning law to allow the accessory sale of liquor on industrial land.
