Corner of 232 Street and Fraser Highway gets new look

Old Union Pumps building to be replaced with modern industrial shop

After nearly five decades of housing small industrial businesses, the corner of 232 Street and Fraser Highway is getting a new look.

Commuters may have already noticed the former Union Pumps building at 23193 Fraser Highway has been torn down, soon to be replaced by a brand new industrial building with a modern design.

The owner, Scott Waddle, is building a large 11,108 square foot multi-tenant building, complete with 10 service bays and two storage bays as well as office space. The majority of the building will house Waddle’s company, Precision Auto Service, while the northern portion will be leased to a tenant.

The design of the outside of the building will feature anodized corrugated metal on the roof and east elevation.

Township Coun. Charlie Fox says it is a welcome change for the corner.

“I think this will be a very nice addition to the corner of 232nd and Fraser Highway,” Fox said, prior to the development permit being issued by council on July 24.

“I know that this family has put a lot of effort into this, and this is a huge investment and I think it’s going to be a really iconic building. And I know that to the south of it, EDS Pumps is going to make something that will mirror it. And it will be a really nice corner once again.”
