Dinoflex announces $3.5 million expansion

Salmon Arm company adding capacity to enter new markets, create new opportunities

Salmon Arm’s Dinoflex has announced plans for a $3.5 million plant expansion and automation upgrade.

In addition to expanding its manufacturing facility in the city’s industrial park, Dinoflex will be adding capacity with new equipment and automated systems.

“The investment includes an additional 10,000-square-foot manufacturing footprint, an array of new production equipment to increase our capacity, as well as work station automation to make our manufacturing process easier, safer and more efficient” says Dinoflex CEO Mark Bunz in an Oct. 26 media release.”The additional capacity will enable Dinoflex to continue to improve service levels to its current client base, as well as increase penetration into new markets and new verticals, creating the opportunity for more people to experience the Dinoflex difference.”

The expansion of facilities also means an expansion of the Salmon Arm plant’s employee base, opening up job opportunities for “a higher skilled and more diverse workforce.”

Though no timeline for the expansion has been announced, the company is hoping to have full production online by summer 2019.

For three decades, the Salmon Arm company has been a leading manufacturer of recycled rubber products, specializing in premium rubber flooring, surfaces, tiles and custom products.
