Nineteen participants – twice as many as last year – participated in the Third Annual Doggie Fashion Show, which was sponsored by Andre’s Electronic Experts, on Sept. 19.

The dogs, a pig and a goat were dressed in a variety of outfits: everything from tutus and leather jackets to a lion costume.

Nearly $850 was raised for the 100 Mile House SPCA, says Andre’s manager Amanda Usher.

Donna Land of Whiskers Kisses, a pet food bank for those who are struggling financially, also benefited from the fashion show. She raised $225 selling baked goods, and had donations of $135 as well as pet food and supplies.

“I’m a lot busier than I thought I would be, but thanks to the kind hearts of locals I’m able to keep up with the demand,” says Land.

Usher promises the fashion show will be back next year.

“We’re always looking for new ideas to make the event even better.”
