Final sale spells success for Uptown Place

Tri-Eagle, Jawl launching 60-unit condo development in Royal Oak

Uptown Place has sold out of all 114 units in the two-phase development on Rowland Avenue.

Uptown Place has sold out of all 114 units in the two-phase development on Rowland Avenue.

The Uptown Place condominium development has sold out of its two-phase development across the Pat Bay Highway from Saanich’s Gateway Village.

The joint development brought together local family businesses Tri-Eagle Development Corporation and Jawl Residential, and was completed in two stages, with the first phase completed in December of 2014 and the second phase in September of 2015.

The building consisted of one, two and three bedroom homes of various sizes. Prices ranged too, as the units were designed to match the demands of varying demographics, in addition to the central location of the Uptown region and proximity to trails, shopping, transit, education and employment.

“From purchasing the property in 2011, to working with the community and our construction team through the years and eventually bringing to market a high-quality home at the right price, welcoming in 76 new residents to the Uptown region has been an honour,” said Tri-Eagle president Travis Lee.

Tri-Eagle and Jawl Residential are teaming up again, with a proposed six-storey, 60-condo residential building known as Radius, adjacent to Royal Oak Shopping Centre in Tri-Eagle Plaza.

Radius will have a similar esthetic and feel to Uptown Place.

Prominent Uptown Place features are the building design and garden-level homes. The design, by principal architect Charles Kierulf of de Hoog and Kierulf Architects, contains oversized windows that accentuate the outdoors, continuous west coast cedar siding and soffits, and an overlapping flat metal roofline.

Every home on the garden-level has a self-contained patio, yard and its own front door creating a “townhouse” feel without the stairs. This lessens the insular condominium building feeling often found in traditional developments, and enhances the interaction between the streetscape to the building and its residents.

The building earned real estate industry accolades, having won the award for “Best Condominium Project or Mixed-Use Development” in Greater Victoria from the Victoria Residential Builders Association.
