It may be the dull days summer, but now’s the time to get a website ready for fall and the holiday season.

It may be the dull days summer, but now’s the time to get a website ready for fall and the holiday season.

George Plumley, author of 100 Questions to Ask Before Building a Website, says it can take several weeks for search engines to pick up changes to a site and even longer to build valuable links and social media buzz. He suggests taking the quieter summer months to build up a store of useful articles, videos or other content for a site.

Then slowly roll it out once or twice a week over the fall and not worry about it when things get busy.

Plumley helps website owners plan for the fall during a free web seminar Thursday (July 21) at 11 a.m. For more information, including a registration link for the webinar, please visit www.shortordersites.com.
