Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has received over 70 cm of new snow in the past 48 hours!  With a recent snow storm cycle covering the region, the Champagne Powder Capital of Canada is excited to announce an early opening with a bonus weekend of operations Friday December 2 to Sunday December 4, followed by seven day a week operations commencing on Friday December 9.

“After last winter’s epic La Niña snowfall, we are thrilled to see the trends return again this year,” states Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.  “The resort is excited to open for a bonus weekend of operations December 2 to 4, offering great ski conditions from top to bottom of the resort.  Our teams are presently working around the clock preparing the mountain for another unforgettable winter season.”

Two Alpine Bowls are confirmed to open on Friday December 2, with skiing / riding available from the top of the mountain to the base.  Open alpine terrain will consist of Bowl Over and Crystal Bowl, including the south facing slopes of Redemption Ridge.  The Golden Eagle Express Gondola and Stairway to Heaven Chair will be in operation for the weekend.  More snowfall is in the forecast over the next week, making the opening of additional terrain possible.
