Head of Tourism Langley resigns

After a decade with the local tourism organization, Deborah Kulchiski is leaving as of Dec. 23.

The most senior staff member of Tourism Langley leaves her post near the end of the year.

The Tourism Langley board has accepted the resignation from executive director Deborah Kulchiski who has been with the agency since 2007.

“Through the efforts, guidance and experience of Deborah, her staff, and current and former boards of directors of Tourism Langley, we have become a leader in the industry and served our communities well. We wish Deborah every success in her future endeavours,” said board chair Teri James.

Recently Langley Township said it was reviewing whether to stay partners with Langley City in the tourism marketing organization.

“The future direction and leadership of Tourism Langley depends on a decision yet to be made by the Township of Langley council, who are considering if their needs are being met under the current DMO or if they may be better served by a separate Township-centric organization”, continued James. “The Tourism Langley board of directors is hopeful that Langley Township council will be making a decision in the near future”.
