All-Star Grey Cup champion and successful businessman, Joe Forzani, and Kelowna entrepreneur, Martin McDermott, have been reunited for great success.
Forzani was in Kelowna last weekend to film some endorsement videos for McDermott’s PowerPlant Whole Foods. The products include raw whole food bars, sprouted seed spreads and frozen veggie shots, all in a variety of flavours.
PowerPlant is a family run business and their products are raw, organic, vegan, gluten free, peanut free, 100 per cent paleo friendly, and are made in a B.C. Kosher certified facility.
McDermott and Forzani go way back to Forzani’s teaching and coaching days when McDermott was his student. “I owe a lot of my success in business from what Forzani taught me. The fundamentals I learned on the field, I practice daily in business,” said McDermott. “Bascially it’s the discipline.”
They’ve kept in touch and when Forzani found out what McDermott was doing, he wanted to know more. “When I heard what Martin had created, I wanted to get involved somehow,” said Forzani.
“These types of products are what people want these days. They want to get away from the junk food and eat healthier. PowerPlant bars are portable, organic and as close to natural as you can get. Forzani, who helped found the Forzani Group (Sport Chek), suffered a heart attack several years ago and continues to look for ways to keep himself healthy. “This is the best product you can put in your mouth,” he laughs. “I have health issues and I looked at other bars, but many of them are loaded with sugar and trans-fats and preservatives. They literally left a bad taste in my mouth because they are fake.”
Forzani, who insists he is semi-retired, is also the founder and director of Forzani Business Coaching. “I’m endorsing PowerPlant products because I actually feel good after I eat them.
