You can now take the plunge into skydiving by driving up to the Salmon Arm airport.
Skydive NOVA is holding its grand opening on Sunday, June 3. The public is invited to come up between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to get a chance to view the airport’s latest addition and see some canopies in the air.
The business offers tandem jumping, where a professionally trained skydiver is attached by a harness to the new skydiver, as well as a skydive school.
While people have to be 19 to participate, the majority of skydivers are 50, 60 and 70 year olds, says owner Rick Scott.
“We have a lot of bucket-list people.”
