Ross Borland, general manager of Vessel liquor store, invites the community to come visit the new store at Oak Bay junction.

A new liquor store in the Oak Bay junction area offers shoppers a wide selection of liquor products, with more than a few specialty pours and and a focus on education.

“First and foremost we’re a liquor store so we sell a full array of product – spirits, beer and wine,” says general manager Ross Borland. “We want to appeal to our neighbourhood so we offer good value.”

Additionally, though, “we’re specializing in unique wines,” says Borland, who brings decades in the hospitality industry to the helm of Vessel.

Alongside an excellent selection of wines from around B.C. and the globe – not to mention a wide variety of sparkling vintages just in time for the holidays – shoppers will find a good selection of local product, both in craft beers and spirits.

Additional choices from around the world round out the shelves, where shoppers will also find lots of information about the different bottles.

Complementing that is the knowledgeable staff.

“Everyone we hired who works in the store has to have some formal training in wine,” Borland says.

Upstairs is the education centre, where Vessel can host both consumer events and programs for the wine industry.

Vessel is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily at 1609 Fort St., at the junction of Oak Bay Avenue.
