MONTREAL, April 15/CNW – Kombi Sports, in conjunction with Health Canada, announces a voluntary recall of 2013 production of Radiator heating gloves and mitts (style numbers 6248 and 6249), GTX Fever heating gloves and mitts (style numbers 4168 and 4169) as well as the two-pack rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and their charger.
Although no injuries have been reported, the batteries used in the identified products may overheat, thereby posing a fire risk. As a precaution, consumers who have purchased these products must remove the batteries from the connection in the glove pouch, avoid charging the batteries and unplug the charger.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience to our consumers and retailers resulting from this recall,” said Mark Pascal, vice-president and partner of Kombi Sports.
“Consumers’ health and safety is of prime importance to us and we strive to offer safe products. That is why we have taken the initiative for this recall in conjunction with Health Canada.
“Consumers may return the products in question to the address below and the customer service department will refund the full purchase price, including shipping up to a total of $10. Retailers are requested to remove these products from the shelves and return them to the above address for a full credit.
