Local Credit Union provides bursaries

Two Peter Skene Ogden graduates receive $1,000 each

Williams Lake and District Credit Union provided two $1,000 bursaries to Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School (PSO) graduates in 100 Mile House.

Provision of bursaries to local students is consistent with the Credit Union’s commitment to support its members and their communities. Acknowledged at the June 3 Scholarship Tea were Alisha Beyer and Ian Heales.

Beyer intends to follow her love of animals into a career in veterinary medicine.

The first step on her journey will be to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at either the University of Calgary or the University of Alberta.

While a student at PSO, Alisha participated in Leadership and Amnesty International. She enjoys many sports and outdoor activities, including horseback riding.

Heales plans to work over the summer before heading to Prince George where he will attend the University of Northern British Columbia.

Ian’s educational goals include a Bachelor of Science degree, and he is particularly interested in space, physics and biology. While a student at PSO, Ian participated in rugby, boxing and wrestling, and volunteered his time at various soccer events.
