The photo depicts a horse drinking the energy drink through a straw.

“It’s my mom’s horse, Blue, a 20-year-old Quarter Horse,” Mumford said as she received her prize at the Tourism Discovery Centre in Williams Lake from Crazy Horse’s distributor and marketer John Charleyboy.

“Blue licked my hand first to taste the drink and then started drinking from the straw.”

Crazy Horse general manager Becky Bravi said the Aboriginal business owned by the Alexis Creek First Nation at Tsi Del Del (Redstone) launched the photo contest a few months after letting people know the drink was being carried in select 7-Eleven locations across Western Canada.

“We invited folks to show us around by submitting a photo of Crazy Horse in their hometown,” she said.

Photos were delivered to the company’s social media sites during the last couple of months and Mumford’s photograph was picked as the winner.

Administrator Jacquie Hatton said honourable mentions go out to Otis Guichon Jr., Blaine Charleyboy and Crystal Millard, Joey Paul, Vincent Sampare, Mike Hewitt, Dean Gilpin Ross and Rick Magnell.

The energy drink contains caffeine but also rose hips, saskatoon berry extract, ginseng extract, citric acid, and vitamins B2, B5, B6 and B12.

“We are a farm to can product,” Bravi said.
