Officially one week into its summer season, Fernie Alpine Resort hosted a customer appreciation day on Sunday, July 5 — encouraging locals to take advantage of hiking and biking trails with free chairlift rides and access for residents only.
“Our team is woven tightly into Fernie and the Elk Valley and we feel it is vital to give everyone in the area a chance to check out summer operations at Fernie Alpine Resort. It is so important for us to provide these special community days both in summer and winter to share what the team has been doing,” said Matt Mosteller, Senior VP Marketing & Resort Experience, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.
Mosteller noted that new summer trails have been introduced as well as a new viewing platform and picnic spot a 20-minute walk from the top of the Timber Quad at Lost Boys Pass.
“We have been really working hard on offering new walking and hiking experiences from new trails to programs with Nature Bob. As well, making sure all existing trails are signed so guests can experience summer mountain time by foot,” said Mosteller.
FAR is open for summer operations until Sunday, September 6. For more information on summer activities at FAR, visit www.summer.skifernie.com
