The local BNI group is teaming up with the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures and the Women’s Business Network to stage a mini business trade show next month. The Alberni Valley Business Fair will take place at the Italian Canadian Centre, 6–9 p.m. on Thursday, March 15.
The business fair will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase your product and to network with other businesses from the valley. Booth space is only $20 but there’s a limit of 40 booths – first come, first served. Businesses can register at Valley Vision Optometry, on Redford by Friday, March 9. The public will be welcomed to the fair at absolutely no charge.
If you haven’t been e-mailed the City of Port Alberni’s feedback questionnaire regarding priorities included in the five-year draft financial plan, hard copies are available at city hall. By all means fill out the questionnaire and let our community leaders know what our priorities are in the short term. If you require an electronic version, we can provide that by e-mailing us at avcoc@alberni.net.
The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Twin Travel and Collette Vacations to offer the chance of a lifetime to achieve another “bucket list” goal – a river excursion all the way from Amsterdam to Budapest.
This is also a fundraiser for the chamber. We will be receiving an honorarium per each ticket sold. As well, if enough people sign up we will be able to sell or auction off a ticket to further raise funds for the operation of the visitor’s centre.
This vacation dream will take place in September 2013 –early fall in central Europe. The riverboat cruise includes 16 days, 41 meals, round trip airport shuttles and tours of Amsterdam, Cologne, Koblenz, Rudesheim, Bamberg, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Linz, Wachau Valley, Melk, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, just to name a few.
In June, Collette Vacations will publish the final schedule for this exciting package along with all pricing. At that time, the chamber will invite interested people to an evening travelogue with Collette’s Tom Maclean and the Twin Travel staff and we’ll take you on a virtual boat trip down the Danube, just to whet your whistle.
This vacation package is open to all Alberni Valley residents and because we plan to sign up a great adventurous team of travellers, our pricing will be the best available. Plan to join my wife, Yvette, and myself, as we achieve a long-awaited goal from our bucket list. Watch for all the details unfolding as we approach the June rollout for this campaign.
Our next Networking Luncheon will feature the Mayor of Parksville, Wednesday, March 14 at the Alberni Golf Club. Reserve today by calling the chamber office at 250-724-6535.
