Residents and visitors at 108 Mile Ranch might notice a large new signboard sporting a community map near the entrance to the subdivision.
Located just off Highway 97 beside the 108 Mile Esso on Easzee Drive, the map details the streets and public amenities in the community, and has extra space for business advertising on the surrounding signboard.
The idea for the sign was brought forward by 108 Mile Ranch Community Association (RCA) director Ingrid Meyer, a local home-based business owner who saw a need for a map that could also help raise funds for the non-profit society.
“We have a lot of clients getting lost at the 108,” says Meyer. “I phoned a lot of other business owners at the 108, and they already booked their signs.
All of the signs must be a specific size to work into the design layout, she notes.
Meyer explains sign sizes are available and range from nine-by-18 inches to 36-by-36 inches, with annual rental fees running from $50 to $150.
The RCA is grateful for the material and in-kind donations, and the landowner’s permission to allow the sign placement, she adds.
