Marshalls set to open this month in Langley

A popular U.S. retailer is opening up shop in the former Future Shop location on the Langley Bypass on Oct. 20.

A large new retailer, set to open in Langley later this month in Langley, is marking the occasion with a donation to help kids.

Marshalls, a leading “off-price” retailer, will celebrate its new store opening in Langley on Thursday, Oct. 20.

Known for a wide selection of big brand fashions, a boxed footwear department with thousands of brand name shoes, and home decor items, Marshalls offers stylish merchandise for the entire family at well below department store prices, said Libby Stunt, Marshalls Canada spokesperson.

Marshalls stores feature a contemporary design with a bright layout so shoppers can find exactly what they are looking for. And, with new items arriving all the time, every store visit is a unique shopping experience filled with surprising brands and surprising savings, she said.

“We are excited to launch this new Marshalls location in Langley,” Stunt added.

“We know that our customers are smart shoppers who seek stylish merchandise and we’re excited to provide them with incredible deals on high-quality, in-season, designer pieces,” she elaborated.

To mark the grand opening of the Langley store, Marshalls will donate $5,000 to Kids Help Phone.

The ongoing partnership with Kids Help Phone is a natural fit for the brand, Stunt said.

“Supporting kids and families in the neighbourhoods where our stores are located and fostering a sense of community is integral to Marshalls’ business.”

The grand opening ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. Regular store hours are Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

At Marshalls, the customer never has to wait for a sale, Stunt said, explaining that the merchandise is priced well below department store and boutique prices, every day.

Marshalls buyers have relationships with more than 14,000 vendors in more than 60 countries around the world, including some of the world’s top designers.

Unlike department stores, Marshalls off-price model means there are no stringent guidelines on how many items buyers can purchase; as a result, Marshalls stores buy much closer to the fashion season, which enables them to be smarter about trends and negotiate much better prices.

Marshalls is owned by The TJX Companies, Inc., the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide.

The company operates more than 3,300 stores including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods in the United States. In Canada, the company operates Winners, HomeSense, and Marshalls stores, and in Europe, T.K. Maxx and HomeSense stores.
