Master gardeners, beekeepers to speak

Public invited to TIMBER MART to learn from experts

TIMBER MART in 100 Mile House is hosting a couple of special public events in June.

General manager Ralph Myhill-Jones says beekeepers Roger Meeks and Denese Hark will be at the store on June 6, 9 a.m.- noon, to demonstrate how to build your own (traditional Langstroth) beehives inexpensively.

Myhill-Jones says TIMBER MART is also pleased to once again bring in master gardeners to speak at the Garden Centre, which had a good turnout and results last year.

There will be two PowerPoint presentations – one on container gardening, and the other on native bees in the area, he explains.

“They will be here from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 13, and they are going to be available for questions and answers on anything people can come up with.

“Master gardeners are experts in their field, they have to go through all kinds to training to be able to achieve that status.”

There will also be refreshments available, he notes.
