Merit Home Furniture showroom expansion puts them at the forefront of retail centres

Merit Home Furniture just may be the biggest furniture-mattress-appliance retail centre on Vancouver Island.

They recently opened the doors on their new addition, they took over the building in Campbell River that used to house Sears, nearly doubling their floor space.

“Based on our confidence in this community and the northern Island we decided to go for it,” said Jeet Sandhu, owner.

The expansion enabled Sandhu to bring in the brands and selection that people really want.

They created an Ashley and La-Z-Boy showroom, a sleep centre with only five others like it in the country as well as Palliser and Decor-Rest galleries. There is also a ‘monster’ appliance gallery with literally every brand someone would want.

According to Sandhu the suppliers were also excited about the expansion, contributing dollars as well as design schematics to the project.

“We wanted it to be something that, not only us, but this community could be proud of,” Sandhu said.

Members from Brand Source, the group that Merit Home Furniture belongs to, flew in from Montreal to see the addition. Sandhu said they called it their new flagship store.
