New Comox Valley buildings earn honours at VIREB awards ceremony

Three commercial buildings in the Comox Valley earned honours last week at the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) Commercial Building Awards ceremony, hosted in Nanaimo on April 19.

Three commercial buildings in the Comox Valley earned honours last week at the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) Commercial Building Awards ceremony, hosted in Nanaimo on April 19.

Now in its 11th year, the annual VIREB Commercial Building Awards recognize the best in commercial, community, and industrial buildings north of the Malahat completed the year before.

The Twin Sail Buildings in the Comox Marina Park were named the judges’ choice for best overall entry, and the North Island Hospital project was named the winner in the institutional building category.

The RiverWalk Centre in Courtenay was a co-winner in the mixed-use category alongside the Dakova Square in Duncan.

The Twin Sail Buildings was also given the award of excellence in the community amenity category.

Fifty-four buildings were named finalists in 12 categories this year.
