New Penticton business on side with sports

A new corporate citizen to Penticton is already making its presence felt in a good way.

Broadstreet Properties, a new property management firm recently donated $1,000 to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program.

The national program helps less fortunate children with participation fees and equipment to be able to take part in organized, community sporting activities.

“As new members of the Penticton community, this has been a great opportunity for us to show our support of local community groups and make an impact in an area that we value greatly,” said Broadstreet’s COO, Jody Wright in a prepared statement. “As a family-run and family-focused company, we see the Jumpstart Program as a perfect fit for us.”

Broadstreet Properties will be opening the doors of its first Penticton property in July and August.

Ridgecrest Place, located on Duncan Avenue, will offer affordable, award-winning apartments featuring pet-friendly suites, on-site maintenance and flexible rental agreements.

The property management group partnered with Canadian Tire to host a pop-up rental office and event at the store recently, offering members of the community a chance to meet the staff and learn about the new apartments.

The Broadstreet team met with the Canadian Tire reps earlier that day to talk about the property and their contribution to Jumpstart.

Visitors of the pop-up event were entered in a draw to win tickets to the Western Canada Cup, which will be hosted in Penticton at the end of April.

Broadstreet representative Allison Carr said: “Sports are a huge part of the culture in Penticton, especially with the hockey academy and the Penticton Vees. We are happy to be a part of helping children in the community have the chance to join a sports team.”
