A new retail store has opened in Golden just in time for the Christmas shopping season. The Wholesale Warehouse opened its doors for business last week.
“It’s a clearance store for name brands,” said owner Cheryl Beech. “We have a large variety of merchandise, so it’s 50 per cent off clothing, and 30 to 40 per cent off the rest of the merchandise.”
Among the many great deals, the clothing and the Christmas wrapping paper for $6.99 is selling very well says Beech.
The first-time business owner, and long-time Golden resident, says the process of opening the store went very quickly.
“It hasn’t been that long. We just talked about it one day, and then I bought into the franchise and it went from there. The next thing you know I’m opening a store,” said Beech.
“It’s very exciting, having a business. I wanted something to do during the day, and I shop at these stores when I’m in Calgary all the time.”
The store gets new stock every week, either on Mondays or Thursdays, so be sure to stop by and check it out when you’re out doing your Christmas shopping this year.
The store hours are not yet set in stone, but at the moment the Wholesale Warehouse, located on 9th Avenue S. beside Bizzare Entertainment, is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and possibly from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
