Those caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia can receive some basic tax tips from the special tax edition of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s newsletter, In Touch.
“As tax season approaches this year, it is important that you are aware of the credits that you may be eligible for,” Avalon Tournier, the society’s support and education co-ordinator for White Rock, said in a release. “It is a helpful starting point when considering what to discuss with your tax preparer.”
In Touch can be found at www.alzheimerbc.org
The society also runs support and information groups for family caregivers and those in the early stages of the disease. The groups offer practical tips, a supportive environment and a chance to learn from, and share with, others in similar circumstances.
