October is the month that we see our neighbourhood farmers’ markets close down for the year, which for many of us is the sign of the change in seasons.
The Goldstream Farmers Market will have its last day on Oct. 15 and the Metchosin Farmers Market will close down at the end of October; so we still have a few weeks of fresh produce and arts and crafts to look forward to.
The official opening for Painter Trail will take place on Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. at the corner of Painter and Dressler roads in Colwood. Come out and help celebrate the new connection between the Wishart neighbourhood and the growing Royal Bay community.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 91 will host the Raise the Roof fundraiser for Coast Collective on Oct. 15. Tickets include admission, dancing, mid-evening snacks and applicable taxes. Dance the night away to the funk and soul of Groove Kitchen and show your support for the Coast Collective.
