It’s a new look for Lakeshore Drive and, along with the dramatic building makeover of the former Penkert’s Bakery location, comes a dynamic new business.
Lakeshore Physiotherapy opens its doors today, Feb. 1, at the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Fourth Street.
Owners Jeff Orchard and Julie Parenteau have been transforming their new space into an inviting, supportive and highly professional operation, ready to assist clients with treatment plans tailored to meet their specific needs.
But the setting is only a small part of the experience at Lakeshore Physiotherapy. The foundation of the business is the skill and experience of Orchard and Parenteau, who have a combined 20 years of practice.
Orchard, who holds a master’s degree in physiotherapy, also holds degrees in human kinetics specializing in exercise science. He has a passion for treating all areas of orthopedics, sports-related injuries, as well as disorders involving balance and dizziness. Injury prevention and promoting an active lifestyle are important areas of concern.
Parenteau, a gold- medal winner in her physiotherapy graduating class at the University of Western Ontario, also has certifications in acupuncture, dry needling and manual and manipulative therapy.
Her interest and desire to help her clients has also led to post-graduate courses in exercise therapy, pre and post natal health, breathing biofeedback, core stability and ergonomics.
The pair are focused on a holistic treatment formula that will determine the underlying cause of injury, improve heath and ultimately help prevent further discomfort.
“We will assist you in achieving your health-related goals, whether you are an avid gardener, elite athlete or somewhere in between,” says Parenteau.
