Pitt’s Green Stars

Businesses lauded for positive impact on environment

The City of Pitt Meadows handed out five Green Star Awards Tuesday.

Now in its third year, the awards recognize members of the community for their roles in implementing and encouraging green practices within Pitt Meadows.

This year, the Green Stars were extended to  include residents, community groups and school classrooms.

“On behalf of council, I am proud of all the efforts businesses and residents have made in Pitt Meadows to integrate environmental decisions into their daily lives,” said Mayor Deb Walters.

“Congratulations to all the winners.”

The award winners and others will be present at the Pitt Meadows Earth Day celebration on Monday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Spirit Square.

Residents are invited to come meet them and find out how to make a positive impact on the environment.
