Plantitude has placed new ‘Stargazer Bubbles’ on their patio to offer customers a unique dining experience.
The 10 foot by seven foot bubbles can seat up to six people. Each comes with their own heaters, and Plantitude puts out blankets on the backs of the chairs. The bubbles were originally designed for glamping, and were made clear so their occupants could gaze at the moon and stars.
The bubbles are available by reservation only, and there is a $60 per table minimum to book them.
“Quite often it’s families that are coming in and doing something fun with their kids,” Plantitude owner Karen Olenik said.
Plantitude is also offering a ‘Taste of Plantitude’ menu, a five course tasting menu that allows diners to try a variety of Plantitude dishes.
Olenik hopes that the Stargazer Bubbles will attract people to Plantitude regardless of whether they eat a plant based diet. The restaurant has already become popular with Vancouver Island vegans, and sees regular customers from Mill Bay to Qualicum Beach.
“We’re a destination,” Olenik said. “It’s not just vegans. So many more people will come in… once you’ve eaten here once, you’ll know it’s a great restaurant.”
