Rain Wellness is taking therapeutic massage to a new level of decadence in Vernon.
Angeline Chillihitzia, owner of Rain Wellness and a registered massage therapist (RMT), opened the city’s first therapeutic spa last Tuesday on Coldstream Avenue.
Spa treatments incorporate hydrotherapy (the use of water for pain relief and treatment) performed by RMTs.
“Hydrotherapy has long been used by many cultures through the ages with added benefits,” said Chillihitzia. “Unfortunately, in recent times, hydrotherapy has taken a turn down Luxury Spa Lane and is now perceived as a luxury-only treatment for those who desire pampering.”
Chillihitzia added that, if done correctly, hydrotherapy treatments can heal injuries, relieve pain, reduce swelling and promote physical and mental relaxation.
“Hydrotherapy is one of the most beneficial adjunct therapies to massage therapy; the two just make sense,” she added.
“Our goal is to assist our clients in reaching their wellness goals whether it’s preventative, rehabilitative or in maintaining one’s current health. We believe the best way to achieve this is through the proper application of therapeutic massage, hydrotherapy and home-care education.”
