Ralph’s gets OK to expand

Business adding 8,115 square feet to existing location

Twenty years after it became one of the first market gardens in Langley, Ralph’s Produce is expanding.

The family-run business at 22728 Fraser Hwy., received a development permit on Monday for an 8,115 square foot addition to its existing store.

The Township attached several conditions which must be met at the building permit stage.

The application complies with the Rural Plan and the Zoning Bylaw.

The addition will increase the size of the produce store to almost 14,400 square feet.

To be built to the east of the existing structure, the building will have garage-style overhead doors to provide fair weather access to bins of produce to the north, a report to council states. The addition will improve the receiving area on the south side.

The report adds that the white tented area on the west side will remain the main access point to Ralph’s Farm Market.

The parking area will remain unchanged.

No one from the public gallery or on council challenged the application at Monday’s hearing.
