There are five new awards hanging on the wall in the 100 Mile House Sears store as store owners Maureen Pinkney and Bill Harris won every store award for the British Columbia East sector of all Sears stores.
The awards were given out at the Sears B.C. regional meeting in Burnaby on June 9.
They came away with the awards for 2015 Top Regional Sales Increase, Power Sales Increase, Major Appliance Sales Increase, Home Furnishing Sales Increase, and PA Attachment Rate.
The Pacific East consists of every store from Fort St. John in the north and Oliver in the south to 100 Mile House.
“They gave Sears a whole new face in this community,” says Sear B.C. East District Manager Jann Destobel.
“Maureen and Bill are top notch. Their customer service is fantastic and their sales are phenomenal.”
The awards come after the two have only been running the store since April 2015. Pinkney attributes the success to the store moving locations and dedicated customers.
“Moving to a larger location gave us a larger inventory, there was no in-store furniture when the store was downtown. We also appreciate every single person who comes into our store and we are always willing to help.”
With one year behind them, Pinkney and Harris say they are looking forward to another year serving 100 Mile House and area.
“If it wasn’t for the support of 100 Mile, we wouldn’t be where we are now. Hopefully with their help, we can achieve this recognition again,” says Pinkney.
