Sears wins award for outstanding service

A local business was recently recognized for their superior customer service. Doug Wilson, Manager of Sears, was presented with the 2010/11 Gold Badge Store Award for Outstanding Customer Service.

A local business was recently recognized for their superior customer service. Doug Wilson, Manager of Sears, was presented with the 2010/11 Gold Badge Store Award for Outstanding Customer Service.

“I found out that we won a couple weeks ago while in Halifax,” Wilson said. “I was there to attend the Sears Hometown Convention.”

280 stores attended the annual convention where Wilson was presented with the award. Wilson and the Golden Sears won the award for the Pacific East Division, which is the largest division in Canada.

The Outstanding Customer Service Award is given to a Sears manager whose store has shown excellent customer service and provides their customers with a great experience and makes the purchasing process smooth with no hassle.

“We are very excited and honoured to win the award and look forward to continued outstanding customer service. We would like to take this opportunity to say that the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride will be in town on September 8. We invite everyone to come down and wish the riders well or make a donation from 5-8 p.m.

The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride is an annual ride that was created to aid children and families suffering from cancer. Since its inception, almost $14 million has been raised through the ride which has gone towards children and families. The bikers will be stopping in Golden on September 8 from 5-8 p.m.  for a quick break before making their way back onto the road for their coast to coast ride.
