A seniors’ care facility may be in the future for West Harbour Village.

A seniors’ care facility may be in the future for West Harbour Village.

The Adams Lake Indian Band, owner of the site at the lake’s foreshore to the west of Churches’ Thrift Shop, has been having preliminary discussions regarding the plan, says Albert Quinn, band manager.

“We’re looking at it very, very strongly, we’re very serious. Nothing is finalized, nothing is formalized – we’re looking at the feasibility and talking with different groups…”

He said the band has had preliminary discussions with Interior Health and InSite Senior Care, among others. The facility would offer three levels of care and would be built in three phases.

“With the right connection, there could be something firmed up by summer.”
