Banking in Nanaimo just got more convenient with TD Canada Trust open Sundays.

Banking in Nanaimo just got more convenient with TD Canada Trust open Sundays.

The company is opening 65 branches in B.C., including the Terminal Park Branch, from noon to 4 p.m., starting this Sunday (Feb. 13).

Bob Wilson, branch manager for the Terminal Park location, said the bank is evolving to meet customers’ needs.

“This will allow people juggling work and family responsibilities to get in here Sundays,” he said. “Customers always want conveniences that fulfill what they are looking for.”

Wilson said it will probably take some time before it registers that people can bank on the weekend, adding that people with more complicated banking activities don’t want to do it online or by telephone banking.

TD Canada Trust identified five banking activities people prefer to do in person – getting financial advice, signing a mortgage, setting up a loan, renewing a mortgage or buying investment products.

No other banking institutions have expressed intentions to add Sunday openings.
