Hostetter named as economic development co-ordinator

The Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce board of directors recently announced that Corry Hostetter has joined the team as an economic development co-ordinator/project manager.

The position provides project management for the delivery of a job creation partnership project through to the end of the year. The focus of the project will be to implement the regional strategic economic development plan and is funded through the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

Hostetter brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to Parksville Qualicum Beach.

She is the former executive director of the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association, past president of Business Improvement Areas of British Columbia, a current director of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and chair of the NCC Government Affairs Committee.

Working with the Parksville chamber, Hostetter will establish an economic development structure for the PQB region with a focus on business retention, expansion and attraction.
